Been a very eventful week thus far! Evetually we decided that the house we saw in Longtown last week wasn't "the one". We've just about got our house on the market now which is really exciting. We're having lots of fun dodging the neighbours who've obviously seen lots of comings and goings during the last few days and are desperate to find out what's going on. Moreover, we're just as keen to avoid them and keep them guessing as long as we possibly can... Just for our own mailcious entertainment! LOL.
We've seen about five houses today and what a variation! We saw a very large Georgian/Victorian town house at 9.30, a barn conversion at 10.30 a cottage at 11am and two cottages knocked together at 6.30pm. We also popped upto another place in an outlying village at 9.30pm. That was lovely as we managed to find the pub' not only open but busy too so all was good.
I'm typing this at the moment while listening to "Beyond our Ken" which followed the very funny "Just a Minute". Anyway, short of the info about the house hunt there's not a great deal going on this week. Ooh, we are going along to a restaurant in Thirsk for lunch tomorrow. It's called Crab and Lobster and is the sister joint of Trenchers' in Whitby. We were in Whitby last week and had a great time so we thought we'd pay a visit to the sibling!

I've not forgotten thee!
It's ages since last time I blogged. Don't worry - I'm back in the harness for the foreseeable now. Bet you're relieved! lol
I think I mentioned that Martin, my mother and I were off on our holidays to the Dominican Republic. Well, we went.
I've heard and read very mixed reports of the Dom Rep (I'm almost a native calling it that!) but I thoroughly enjoyed the whole visit. It's certainly a country that's on its knees but is getting up rather than falling down. The poverty there os probably the worst I've ever seen but I've only ever travelled in Europe which isn't really a good gague of world economics.
The hotel was great. Dead cheap too. £15 per day for a room that was 40ft long and 16ft wide and ensuite with a verandah that was 25 feet by 12 directly overlooking the pool, four meals a day and as much booze as you want. £15 a DAY!!!! Amazing value.
The entertainments team were very hard working. They worked from 9am until 11pm five days a week plus a half day too... All for the princely sum of $2 per day.
Been home since Saturday and it has been pretty eventful. We've started looking for a house in earnest today. Looked at one in Carlisle but didn't really like it that much. Booked to see one on Thursday which I'm very excited about... Watch this space.
